Chris Horn began his IT career in 1999 with a small Internet Service Provider (ISP), quickly transitioning into the web hosting and support space. There, he supported dedicated hosting partners and served as a technical account manager for several large IT providers, establishing himself as a 3rd party hosting expert.
In 2004, Chris moved into the freight and logistics sector, where he specialized in customer integration, working with multinational companies to develop and implement custom solutions that met their specific freight and logistics needs.
By 2008, Chris had transitioned to the healthcare IT industry as a Senior RIS/PACS Developer. He played a pivotal role as a User Experience (UX) Developer on a ground-breaking diagnostic web viewer and later expanded his expertise across the entire software stack. Chris gained deep knowledge of HL7 and DICOM standards and was instrumental in designing messaging tools for HL7, CDA Documents, and DICOM Structured Reports. His focus then shifted to the DICOM imaging and storage requirements of the business.
Chris’s expertise in the RIS/PACS domain led to his rapid advancement within the organization.
He progressed from Assistant Software Manager to Software Development Manager and Solution Architect, where he was responsible for designing and building key products while mentoring a team of developers.
During this period, Chris also initiated and developed an open-source project that continues to be widely used by developers in the DICOM imaging space today.
